Name: Chirin
Age: 25 (joined at 20)

Gender: Male
Orientation: Pansexual
Species: Half human, half cacomistle

Height: 6' 1"
Build: A bit skinny, but has some lean muscle
Hair Color: Pink
Eye Color: Green

Title: Illusory Void
Skill: Sound illusion - Chirin can create illusions in enemies' minds using the sounds he can make in order to cause confusion. Because he can use his magic on all five senses of his victim, his illusions tend to be very believable and realistic, which he can use to imitate people, creatures, and places with utmost accuracy. Basically he uses magic that is channeled into the sound waves in order to enter the brain from the inner ear and cause the victim to see his illusions. Chirin prefers to use his bell earrings since that's the easiest way for him to make a noise and usually the least noticeable by the enemy, although he can feasibly use any sound he makes to activate it. Chirin can control the illusions, so that allies that might also hear the sound are not affected. In battle, he tends to use this to create an illusory block on his opponent's senses, making them unable to see, hear, smell or even touch what's around them; however doing this for all of his opponents senses at once drains his mana significantly and therefore he can only do so for three rounds continuously after which his mana is drained and needs replenishing. It's difficult for even strong minds to see through his illusions, but powerful mages may be able to break them. Chirin can now affect all five senses with his illusions, effectively making incredibly realistic and believable illusions. With all the training he's received over the course of his three years at the school, he's gotten his regular use of his illusions down to being only a miniscule amount of mana (i.e. when he uses illusions to speak), though when he uses it excessively in battle or when he's stressed it can quickly start to drain his mana pool, as the more senses he tries to affect and the more targets he has, the more mana it takes.

Minor Skill(s):
:bulletpink: Immortality - As the Demigod of Light, Chirin has gained immortality. This only applies to natural deaths, and he can still be killed by other means such as a good, old fashioned stab.
:bulletblue: Mana Distribution - As the Demigod of Light, Chirin is able to distribute mana through his affiliation with all types of light, natural or artificial. He acts as something of a channel for mana to pass through as it's distributed into his domain of light.
:bulletpink: Meladis - When he starts playing a song on his lyre, it will begin to give off a light glow. After glowing for one round, bells will start to ring in the following round, sounding similar to church bells. In the third round of uninterrupted playing, a light begins to appear under the affected demons. The next chord struck on the lyre will make a bright flash emit briefly from both the lyre and underneath the demons, which will paralyze them briefly. How long depends on how many demons he's trying to affect. If it's one demon, he can paralyze them for three rounds. If it's two to three demons, he can paralyze them for two rounds. If it's four or more demons, he can only do it for one round. While paralyzed, if he continues to play his meladis will passively purify them. After the paralysis effect wears off, his cooldown is two turns before he can attempt to activate it again.
:bulletblue: Shadow Portals - Since Chirin is a shadowless (see Miscellaneous below), Chirin's entire body acts as a portal to a pocket in the shadow world. This is a hereditary ability passed to him from his father. It is typically used to carry and hide things, such as weapons and even living beings (living things remain suspended in time-space while they remain inside the portal, and therefore stay alive until they are removed). The pocket itself holds the equivalent of 75 square feet (about the size of a medium sized storage shed) of things regardless of weight. To put something in or pull something out of the portal, he needs to have his skin exposed so he can form a portal on the surface of it to put in or remove an item. You can't see into the portal itself, but he can pull out the item he needs by thinking of it while he reaches into the portal. If an item will not fit in the void space, the portal will reject the item by not letting it pass through. The portal is only as big as Chirin's whole body, so if an item cannot fit in that space, it cannot be put in the void space.
:bulletpink: Essence of Light - He can create a little light orb that he can levitate around him to use as a source of light. It gives off about the same light as a lantern. It only uses a little bit of mana to use since it's such a minor spell

Weapon: Illusion magic and meladis
Weapon Type: Mid to Long range for illusion magic/meladis
Combat Style: Chirin is first and foremost a mage and therefore he prefers to stay to the back in a fight and use his illusions or meladis to support and aid his companions. He'll use his illusions in order to disorient his opponents by fooling their senses, and if they are demons he would also use his meladis to help purify their soul.

Home Region: Emerald
History:
Chirin was born on a small farm in Emerald region, which his parents had moved to after his dad discovered his mother was pregnant. His father, Claude, was a royal knight and his mother, Clara, was a human that he'd fallen in love with. Both were heroes from 20 years before when the goddess was freed from her insanity and the demon queen was quelled. Chirin grew up in a peaceful environment surrounded by loving parents and a younger sister, whom he was protective of, as well as a few friends. However, he knew he was different from others. Other people could talk, and he couldn't. Other people had shadows and he didn't. Sometimes he would overhear people whispering about him. Over time, he subconsciously began separating himself from others, mostly by trying to stay out of others' attention or by taking to solitary activities like reading.

His father fretted that he might be parenting wrong and making the same mistakes his own parents had, and tried to engage Chirin in more activities. The only one he was truly good at himself was sword-fighting however, so he decided to attempt to teach both his children how to use one. Chirin was happy at first to be able to learn how to sword fight since then he could be a royal knight like his father. However, he didn't seem to be learning it very well, and he felt because of it that he was disappointing his father. Though he couldn't seem to fight well with a weapon, through his own fascination with spellbooks he obtained at a small local library, Chirin discovered he could do magic. Remembering his fathers stories about how they saved Voxis from the demon queen, he specifically thought of the magi that his father served under. He knew his father held high respect for that magi, and perhaps if he could become a magi himself, he could hold respect for him as well. He proposed what he wanted to do to his parents, and his father suggested Enhalo, since the school was going to be opening soon and he felt it would be a good environment for Chirin to be in.

During Chirin's time at the school, he's faced a lot of trials and tribulations, but along the way he made a lot of friends and felt like he had been accepted. He made peace with his father and used his sword and his void ability without shame, and also met Alphonse with whom he now wants to spend the rest of his life. But after the assumed death of Piri, Aivis'ra's house divine and after having a demon soul removed from his own to be given it's own body so that its soul would not consume his soul entirely, he had grown distant once again and began isolating himself with his studies. Even at his job, he was fairly distant. But he's realized he was probably hurting the people around him as well as himself by doing so and has decided to try and come out of his shell once again. He has since given the sword his father gifted to him to Alphonse, with a promise they'll stay together forever.

Miscellaneous:
:bulletblue: Chirin is completely mute, meaning he doesn't have a voice at all. It's believed in the early stages of his development, Amor took Chirin's voice away as a defense mechanism so that he couldn't kill them both with his meladis. Amor doesn't remember this since it was subconsciously done, and exactly how he was able to do so is unknown. Chirin communicates mainly through an illusion voice he creates using his magic. It manifests as a voice that he believes he should sound like, as it's very soft and warm. When using his illusion voice doesn't work, he communicates by writing what he wants to say down in a notebook he carries with him and then shows it. He can also draw fairly well, since he's also done that to show what he's thinking. He prefers writing to drawing however, and often tends to draw things he doesn't intend to show others. Even though is notepad is no longer his main form of communication, he still brings it everywhere with him.
:bulletpink: Chirin is a Shadowless, which means he doesn't have a shadow; instead, Shadowless' entire body act as a portal to a shadow world pocket. Shadowless are distant descendants of the god of shadows, Umbris. Shadowless powers are hereditary, so they were passed on from his father, Claude. Shadowless are canonically avoided or frowned upon because many might believe they have an association with demons. Chirin didn't used to like using his Shadowless portal powers because of an bad experience he had as a child using it. However, since he's felt more accepted at the school he's been more open about using it without fear of being judged for it.
:bulletblue: He likes to use his illusion abilities to fake environments around himself, making himself seem as if he's in a quiet field or forest when he isn't and so forth. It helps when he's reading or just wants to relax or daydream. It's become his own little world that's sort of become an escape from reality.
:bulletpink: Chirin's earrings were a gift he received when he was young from a traveling merchant, later found to be Quill's mother. He loved the sound they made and was enamored by them. The merchant saw his fascination with them and decided to give them to him for free. Before he got older, he'd just hold onto them in his pocket and jingle them to calm himself down or if he needed to feel more comfortable. When he did get older, he pierced his ears specifically to have the earrings on at all times. He's grown accustomed to having them on, and sometimes gets confused if he forgets to put them on since he's become used to hearing the jingling when he moves his ears and feels a bit naked without them. His earrings are precious to him and he would be devastated if he ever lost them, since they sort of act as a security blanket to him. His lyre was received from the same merchant when he was older.
:bulletblue: Chirin has a fascination with music as a form of expression beyond speech.
:bulletpink: Chirin knows he's different, and isn't offended when people point out that he's mute or doesn't have a shadow. He's become used to most comments that stem from it and tends not to judge people based on their reactions.
:bulletblue: Although he prefers quieter situations to louder ones, Chirin doesn't like complete silence. It's mostly because total silence makes him feel trapped and completely alone. He's had a few nightmares before where everything was silent and he couldn't make any noise, so it sort of spooks him a little. Because of this, Chirin appreciates little ambiance noises, like birds chirping, the sound of the wind blowing, shuffling that other people might make when they walk, cricket sounds, etc.
:bulletpink: Chirin is engaged to Alphonse Prinz-Herschel, and always wears the ring he received from him except for when he's sleeping.
